Celebrate National Social Worker Month in March
A Better Solution wants to take a moment to honor those who are dedicated to ensuring the care of others and give a little history, as well as this years National theme: Social Work Month 2014.
From its start in the 1960’s, Social Work Month has been a nationwide effort. In 1965, the NASW News published a Social Workers’ Month Regional Report, which documented the efforts of NASW chapters spreading the new concept of Social Work Month awareness.
The National Association of Social Workers is pleased to announce the 2014 Social Work Month theme: “All People Matter.” this year’s theme and logo is to help raise awareness about the American social work profession’s 116 year commitment to improving social conditions and quality of life opportunities for everyone. Social workers across the globe believe that all people have dignity and deserve respect.
NASW’s goal for Social Work Month 2014 is to educate the public about how these values are essential to improving relationships within families, making social support systems more effective, and building stronger communities.
A Better Solution is proud of being one of the few home care agencies that have been honored to support Sharp Social Workers Breakfast for the last 6 years. We have diligently worked with Social Workers in Skilled Nursing and hospitals educating ourselves on their concerns for the patients they are responsible for, and maintaining a Standard of Care that reflects the best of what home care has to offer, hopefully always making their job easier. When a Social Worker refers a client we like to ensure that they are kept posted on the status, and of any changes that may occur in their care. You would be surprised at how much that is appreciated, even though the Social Worker does not have the patient responsibility, their care and concerns goes on for long after they leave the facility.
This month we, as well as the rest of the nation, take the time to express our gratitude for all that our Social Workers in our industry and every other industry do.
We appreciate the work you do!
