Saluting Senior Citizens is Our Mission for August at a Better Solution

On August 21st 1988, President Ronald Reagan declared August 21st as National Senior Citizens Day. The proclamation stated “For all they have achieved throughout life and for all they continue to accomplish, we owe older citizens our thanks and heartfelt salute. We can best demonstrate our gratitude and esteem by making sure that our communities are good places in which to mature and grow older- places in which older people can participate to the fullest and can find the encouragement, acceptance, assistance, and services they need to continue to lead lives of independence and dignity.” Here at A Better Solution, we want to celebrate the spirit of the day and recognize the seniors in our community that we serve every day.

A Better Solution In Home Care is and always has been

Dedicated to providing the best home care possible and to keeping our senior citizen clients independent is a major part of our mission. During this month, take time to learn the life story of a senior in your life. Who is your favorite older person? What can you learn from the seniors in our community? Helping our seniors is one way of giving back to the community. One of the ways that we also give back at A Better Solution is our program “Helping the Homeless” that we do every month.

This month, make an effort to know a senior citizen in your life a little better and help them to feel important and appreciated. You will be amazed at how far a compliment or block of time spent just listening can make a difference in the life of a senior citizen. At A Better Solution, we make certain the seniors we take care of know they are important, they are heard and allowed to maintain as much independence as possible while our capable staff gives them the extra help they need. President Reagan may have been onto something really special when he proclaimed National Senior Citizens Day. Join us at A Better Solution in taking some time on August 21st and all month long to recognize a senior in your life.
